Ever wonder who is benefiting, really benefiting, from lower taxes? Clue: It’s not those making under $1M. While some $200K and above have paid less taxes, the true winners of this scheme have been about 400 ultra-rich.
Those making under $1M, way under $1M, maybe even under $100K are out fighting for something that they not only don’t benefit from, but the very thing that is hurting their financial well-being. Aside from the invention/promoting/funding of religion to keep the poor in check, the political tax-war is the uber-upper-class’s next best way to keep them rich and the poor poorer.
And next time someone claims that lower taxes lead to job creation and economic growth, ask them why, for the past 8 years (or even since the 1960 when taxes dropped under 49% and continued a downward trend), when the rich got much richer, unemployment hasn’t been approaching zero, or even staying put, or why the downtown areas of so many cities have turned into ghost towns?
